Synecdoche, New York

“Synecdoche, New York”, así se llama el debut en la dirección de Charlie Kaufman.

Obviamente el guion también es suyo, y para los que no recuerden en estos momentos que hizo, se destacó por sus originales guiones en Quieres ser John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich dirigida por Spike Jonze), El ladrón de orquideas (Adaptation, también por Jonze), Confesiones de una mente peligrosa (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind dirigida por George Clooney) y Eterno resplandor de una mente sin recuerdos (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind dirigida por Michael Gondry).

Tiene un elenco de lujo: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Samantha Morton, Michelle Williams, Catherine Keener, Emily Watson, Dianne Wiest y Jennifer Jason Leigh entre los mas conocidos.

Hoffman interpreta a un director teatral que intenta representar una obra creando una réplica de Nueva York a tamaño natural dentro de un almacén. Keener da vida a su primera esposa mientras que Williams es la segunda y Morton su amante.

Distribution company tiene previsto su estreno en Argentina para el mes de Marzo.
